Dr. Christopher A. Lester, is the president and founder of the National Educational Empowerment Summit, Inc. Dr. Lester grew up in a low-income single parent household. He attended inner city schools for the majority of his k-12 educational experiences. His research and own personal educational experiences have led him to create educational opportunities for low income populations that support their abilities to reach their own personal highest educational potential. His research interests include examining issues of equity in education, the roles of diversity and oppression in organizations and school settings, and the impact of race on educational outcomes. Dr. Lester’s recent study focused on the k-12 educational experiences of 12th grade, low-income inner city Black males. Dr. Lester is a mentor and motivational speaker for low income inner city youth. He has provided consultation to a variety of organizations and educational institutions on issues of diversity transformation, cross cultural competencies, youth leadership and empowerment, multicultural organizational development and human development. Dr. Lester is currently writing a book about his experiences with poverty and his educational journey to receiving his doctorate degree.
